The NORTON 61463624518 is an aluminum oxide mounted point designed for precision grinding, deburring, and surface finishing in tight or contoured areas. Shaped to the W177 cylinder profile, this mounted point measures 3/4 inch thick with a 1/8 inch diameter shank and an overall length of 2-1/4 inches. It carries a 60-grit, medium-grade abrasive bonded with a vitrified bond, delivering consistent stock removal on ferrous metals and hard materials. The brown aluminum oxide abrasive is well suited to grinding hardened steel, tool steel, and cast iron. This type of mounted point is typically installed and used by machinists, tool and die makers, and maintenance technicians working with die grinders or rotary tools.
This mounted point is appropriate for bench-top rotary tool work, die grinder applications, and precision grinding tasks on metal components in both production and maintenance environments. It fits applications where a small, rigid abrasive point is needed to reach bores, slots, cavities, or complex contours that larger abrasive wheels cannot access. The 1/8 inch shank is a standard size compatible with collets found on most pneumatic and electric die grinders. The 60-grit medium grade balances material removal rate with surface finish quality for general-purpose metal grinding tasks.
Designed for use with pneumatic or electric die grinders and rotary tools fitted with a 1/8 inch collet. Suitable for grinding ferrous metals including hardened steel, tool steel, and cast iron.
This mounted point must be installed and operated by personnel familiar with abrasive grinding tool safety. Before mounting, verify that the tool spindle speed does not exceed the 38,640 RPM maximum rated speed of the mounted point. Inspect the point for cracks or damage before each use and discard any damaged point immediately. Wear appropriate eye protection, a face shield, and hearing protection during operation, and ensure all guards are in place per ANSI B11 grinding safety standards.
