The NORTON 61463624491 is a cylinder-shaped mounted point abrasive designed for precision grinding, deburring, and surface finishing in hard-to-reach areas. Built with aluminum oxide abrasive grain bonded in a vitrified bond matrix, this W146-profile point delivers consistent stock removal on ferrous metals and cast iron. It runs at up to 76,820 RPM, making it suited for high-speed die grinders and rotary tools. The medium grade and 60 grit combination provide a balance of material removal and surface control. The 1/8 inch shank seats into standard collet-type holders, and the 1/2 inch head thickness gives the tool enough contact surface for effective cylindrical grinding work.
This mounted point is used in metal fabrication shops, tool-and-die operations, weld grinding, mold finishing, and general maintenance grinding tasks. It is installed in die grinders, flexible shaft machines, or drill press setups where a small, controlled abrasive profile is required. The W146 cylinder shape is a common selection when working inside bores, ports, or cavities where flat wheel access is not practical. Machinists, maintenance technicians, and fabricators typically reach for this style of mounted point when blending welds, cleaning flash from castings, or refining internal surfaces on machined components.
Designed for use with die grinders, rotary tools, and flexible shaft machines equipped with a 1/8 inch collet. Suitable for grinding ferrous metals, cast iron, and similar materials where aluminum oxide abrasive is the appropriate grain selection.
Mounted points must be installed in a collet or chuck rated for the shank diameter and capable of operating at or above the maximum RPM of the accessory. Inspect the point for cracks or chips before each use and never operate above the rated 76,820 RPM marked on the product. Always power down and disconnect the tool before changing mounted points. Eye protection, hearing protection, and appropriate work-holding are required per ANSI B7.1 safety standards for abrasive products.
