The NORTON 61463616471 is a W208 cylinder-shaped mounted point abrasive designed for aggressive grinding and material removal on metal and hard surfaces. It uses a zirconia alumina abrasive grain bonded with a resinoid bond, which delivers fast cut rates and durability under heavy-duty use. At 24 grit very coarse grade, this mounted point is built for rapid stock removal rather than fine finishing. The head is 2 inches thick, the shank diameter is 1/4 inch, and the shank length is 1-1/2 inches. It is rated for a maximum speed of 22,830 RPM. Machinists, fabricators, and maintenance technicians install this type of abrasive in die grinders and rotary tools for weld dressing, deburring, and surface prep work.
This mounted point fits standard 1/4-inch collet die grinders and is suited for applications in metal fabrication shops, maintenance facilities, and light industrial environments. The W208 cylinder profile provides broad contact with the workpiece, making it effective for blending welds, removing casting flash, and cleaning up rough edges on steel and other hard metals. The very coarse 24-grit designation makes it best suited for initial material removal passes where surface finish is not the primary concern.
Designed for use with die grinders and rotary tools fitted with a 1/4-inch collet. Suitable for grinding steel, cast iron, and similar hard metals in fabrication and maintenance applications.
This mounted point is installed by a machinist or metalworker into a die grinder or rotary tool with a matching 1/4-inch collet. Always verify the tool spindle speed does not exceed the 22,830 RPM maximum rating before operation. Inspect the mounted point for cracks or chips before each use and discard if damaged. Use appropriate eye protection and follow applicable ANSI B11 and OSHA abrasive wheel safety guidelines during use.
