The NORTON 61463610406 is a square aluminum oxide dressing stick used to true, open, and condition grinding wheels during maintenance operations. It measures 6 inches in length with a 1 inch by 1 inch square cross-section and is manufactured with a vitrified bond. The 220-grit, very fine grade makes it well-suited for dressing superabrasive and precision grinding wheels where controlled material removal and surface refinement are required. The white aluminum oxide abrasive and vitrified bond construction provide consistent, predictable cutting action across the face of a wheel.
This dressing stick is designed for use on superabrasive wheels in tool and cutter grinding, surface grinding, and cylindrical grinding applications. It is commonly used in machine shops, grinding facilities, and production environments where wheel face condition directly affects workpiece finish and dimensional accuracy. Licensed grinding technicians and tool room machinists apply this stick to restore wheel geometry and expose fresh abrasive grain after loading or glazing occurs.
Designed as an OEM-style dressing tool for use with superabrasive grinding wheels requiring a vitrified-bond, aluminum oxide stick for truing and conditioning operations.
Dressing sticks are applied by qualified grinding technicians or tool room machinists. Before dressing, power down the grinder, verify wheel guards are properly seated, and inspect the wheel for cracks or chips per ANSI B11.9 guidelines. Hold the stick firmly against the wheel face and introduce contact gradually to avoid shock loading the abrasive wheel. Never force or wedge the dressing stick against a wheel that is not rotating at its rated operating speed.
