The NORTON 614636-24550 is a W205-shaped mounted grinding stone designed for precision deburring, grinding, and surface blending on metal and other hard materials. Mounted stones are abrasive tools fitted to a shank for use with die grinders, rotary tools, and similar high-speed spindle equipment. This unit features a 0.75 inch diameter grinding head and a 0.25 inch shank diameter, making it compatible with standard collet tooling. Each box contains 5 stones, providing enough inventory for production or shop use without frequent reorder. Machinists, toolroom technicians, and fabricators rely on mounted stones for controlled material removal in tight or contoured areas.
Mounted stones in the W205 shape are used in metalworking and fabrication environments for weld blending, burr removal, port work, and fine grinding in recesses and cavities not accessible to larger abrasive tooling. They are suited to both bench-top die grinder work and inline rotary tool applications. This 5-piece pack is sold by the box, making it practical for shop stock or field service kits where stone wear is expected and replacements need to be on hand.
Designed for use with die grinders and rotary tools equipped with a 0.25 inch collet; suitable for general metalworking, fabrication, and toolroom grinding applications where a W205-profile mounted stone is specified.
Mounted stones should be installed by a qualified machinist or toolroom technician familiar with rotary abrasive tooling. Before mounting, verify the tool spindle speed does not exceed the maximum RPM rating marked on the stone or packaging. Inspect each stone for cracks or chips before use and discard any damaged units. Ensure the shank is fully seated and the collet nut is tightened securely before operating the grinder.
