The NORTON 07660789086 is a Type 1 (flat) silicon carbide cut-off wheel designed for cutting masonry and similar hard, abrasive materials. At 8 inches in diameter and 1/8 inch thick, it spins up to 7,640 RPM on compatible circular saws. The resinoid bond holds the 24-grit silicon carbide abrasive together under cutting loads, and both sides of the wheel are reinforced for added strength during operation. The 5/8-inch arbor hole fits standard circular saw spindles. Masonry contractors, tile setters, and general construction tradespeople are the primary users of this wheel.
This cut-off wheel is rated for masonry applications, including concrete, brick, block, tile, and similar non-metallic materials. It is intended for use with circular saws where the arbor matches the 5/8-inch hole size and the tool is rated for at least the wheel diameter. The flat Type 1 profile suits straight, plunge, and partition cuts typical in masonry work on residential and commercial job sites.
Designed for use with circular saws equipped with a 5/8-inch arbor and rated to accept an 8-inch diameter cut-off wheel. Intended for masonry cutting applications per Norton Masonry specifications.
Cut-off wheel mounting and use should be performed by qualified tradespeople familiar with abrasive wheel safety. Always confirm the tool is rated at or above the wheel maximum RPM before mounting. Power down and disconnect the saw before changing wheels. Inspect the wheel for cracks or damage before each use and never exceed the marked maximum RPM.
