The NORTON 076607-61295 is a wide abrasive sanding belt built on a zirconia alumina grain system bonded to a heavy-duty Y-weight cloth backing. Zirconia alumina is a self-sharpening abrasive that fractures under pressure to expose fresh cutting edges, making it well suited to aggressive stock removal on metal, wood, and composite surfaces. At 80 grit, this belt sits in the coarse range, delivering fast material removal while still leaving a workable surface for follow-up finishing passes. Licensed abrasives technicians and production floor operators working wide-belt sanding machines are the primary installers and end users.
This belt is designed for use on wide-belt industrial sanding machines common in production woodworking shops, metal fabrication facilities, and composite manufacturing environments. The 37-inch width and 75-inch length fit dedicated wide-belt sanders in that size class. The Y-weight cloth backing resists tearing and heat buildup during extended run cycles, making it appropriate for both continuous and intermittent sanding operations on flat panel stock, structural steel, and similar workpieces. Minimum order quantity is 3 belts per purchase.
Designed for use in wide-belt industrial sanding machines that accept a 37-inch by 75-inch abrasive belt.
Wide sanding belts should be installed by qualified operators following the sanding machine manufacturer's belt-change procedures. Power down and lock out the machine before removing a worn belt or installing a new one. Inspect the belt for cracks, tears, or edge damage before mounting, and confirm proper tracking adjustment before resuming production. Allow the belt to run unloaded briefly at operating speed to verify stable tracking prior to contacting the workpiece.
