The NORTON 076607-60624 is a wide abrasive sanding belt constructed with aluminum oxide grain on an X-weight cloth backing. Aluminum oxide is a self-sharpening abrasive well suited to high-pressure stock removal and finishing applications on wood, metal, and composite materials. The X-weight cloth backing provides the tensile strength and flexibility required to run on wide belt sanders without tracking or tearing under load. At 120 grit, this belt delivers a balance between material removal rate and surface finish quality, making it a practical choice for finish sanding and surface prep work in production and shop environments.
This belt is sized at 43 inches wide by 60 inches long, intended for use on wide belt sanding machines common in cabinet shops, millwork facilities, furniture manufacturing, and industrial production lines. The 120 grit designation suits intermediate to finish passes on wood panels, MDF, and similar substrates. These belts are sold in a minimum quantity of 5 per order, consistent with production shop consumption rates.
Designed as a wide belt abrasive replacement for industrial and production wide belt sanding machines that accept a 43 inches by 60 inches belt format.
Wide sanding belts should be installed by trained shop personnel following the sander manufacturer's belt-changing procedure. Always power down and lock out the machine before replacing a belt. Inspect the platen, rollers, and tracking adjustment before starting the machine to confirm proper belt alignment. Allow the belt to run at operating speed briefly before engaging the workpiece to verify tracking is stable.
