The NORTON 076607-02630 is a full-sheet abrasive designed for high-volume material removal on wood, metal, and composite surfaces. Built on an aluminum oxide (A/O) paper backing with an open-coat construction, this sheet resists loading and maintains cutting efficiency longer than standard closed-coat alternatives. At P80C grit, it delivers aggressive stock removal suited to initial sanding passes, surface prep, and paint or finish stripping. Each sheet measures 9 inches x 11 inches, fitting standard hand blocks and most orbital finishing tools. Finishing contractors, woodworkers, auto body technicians, and metal fabricators are the primary users of this product type.
This abrasive sheet is part of the Norton 3X High Performance A259 line, which is formulated for extended cut life on demanding applications. The open-coat backing prevents swarf buildup, making it well-suited for resinous woods, soft metals, and other materials prone to clogging conventional abrasives. Typical applications include surface preparation before priming, leveling rough lumber, and intercoat scuffing on larger flat panels. The 50-sheet pack supports production environments where consistent grit availability across a shift or job is essential.
Designed as a standard full-sheet abrasive compatible with hand sanding blocks and power sanders that accept 9 inches x 11 inches sheets, including most half-sheet and full-sheet finishing sanders when folded or cut to size.
Abrasive sheets should be installed by trained finishing, woodworking, or metal fabrication professionals. Secure the sheet firmly to the backing pad or sanding block before use to prevent slippage. Always wear appropriate respiratory protection and eye protection when dry sanding, as fine particulate is generated. Inspect sheets regularly during use and replace when cut rate diminishes noticeably to maintain surface quality.
