The NORDIC PURE 28x30x2GeoPM8C-3 is a MERV 8 pleated plus activated carbon air filter designed for geothermal heat pump systems. Sold in a 3-pack, each filter measures an actual 27.75 x 29.38 x 1.75 inches and ships in a one-piece beverage board frame that requires no taping or assembly. The MERV 8 polyester media captures lint, household dust, pollen, dust mites, mold spores, pet dander, bacteria, and virus-carrying particulates. An integrated activated carbon layer absorbs and neutralizes household odors from pets, cooking, smoke, and similar sources while maintaining adequate airflow through the system. The media is hypoallergenic, antimicrobial, and will not support mold or bacterial growth. A bonded metal mesh support grid reinforces the pleats for structural integrity under normal HVAC static pressure.
These filters are suited for residential and light commercial geothermal heat pump installations where both particulate control and odor reduction are priorities. Nordic Pure specifies direct replacement compatibility with the ClimateMaster Tranquility 20 model TSV036, Tranquility 27 model TTV038, and Tranquility 30 model TEV038 using OEM filter reference 76B0005N15. The filters are also appropriate for any geothermal or conventional forced-air system that accepts a 28x30x2 nominal filter. Typical service interval is 30 to 90 days depending on indoor and outdoor air quality conditions, with more frequent changes recommended during renovation or high-dust periods.
Specified as a direct OEM-style replacement for ClimateMaster Tranquility 20 model TSV036, Tranquility 27 model TTV038, and Tranquility 30 model TEV038 (OEM filter reference 76B0005N15). Fits any forced-air or geothermal system accepting a 28x30x2 nominal filter. Actual filter dimensions are 27.75 x 29.38 x 1.75 inches - verify the actual slot dimensions before ordering rather than relying on the nominal size printed on the existing filter.
Filter replacement in geothermal and conventional forced-air systems is a routine maintenance task performed by HVAC technicians and qualified facility maintenance personnel. Always set the system to the off position at the thermostat and confirm the air handler has stopped before opening the filter access panel. Confirm airflow direction arrow on the filter frame aligns with the direction of airflow toward the blower. Inspect the filter housing gasket or seating surface for gaps that could allow bypass air to short-circuit the media.
