The NORDIC PURE 20x25x1PCP-6 is a pure carbon pleated air filter sold in a 6-pack, rated at MERV 8, and designed to capture airborne particulates while absorbing odors and volatile organic compounds (VOCs) on a molecular level. The filter media is a non-woven polyester base infused with naturally derived charcoal and coconut-shell activated carbon. It is sized at a nominal 20x25x1 with an actual size of 19.5 x 24.5 x 0.75 inches. Licensed HVAC technicians and facilities maintenance professionals install these filters in forced-air furnace and air handler systems where both particulate control and odor reduction are required.
This filter is suited for residential applications including single-family homes and apartments where pet odors, cooking smells, smoke, bathroom odors, or VOCs from cleaning products are a concern. It also functions as a pre-filter in commercial and light-industrial HVAC units handling stronger ambient odors. The pleated carbon design delivers approximately three times the carbon media surface area compared to flat carbon panels, improving odor absorption without significantly restricting airflow. Replacement is recommended every 30 to 90 days depending on environmental conditions and odor load.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement for standard 20x25x1 nominal furnace and air handler filter slots in residential forced-air systems. Also suitable as a pre-filter in commercial HVAC units requiring odor control. Actual size is 19.5 x 24.5 x 0.75 inches; measure the existing filter cavity before installation to confirm fit.
Installation is performed by licensed HVAC technicians or qualified maintenance personnel. Power down the air handler or furnace at the disconnect before removing the existing filter. Confirm airflow direction arrows on the filter frame align with the direction of airflow into the unit before seating the filter. Follow local mechanical codes and the equipment manufacturer guidelines for filter replacement intervals, and inspect the filter slot for bypass gaps that would allow unfiltered air to enter the system.
