The NORDIC PURE 20x24x2PM12C-12 is a dual-layer pleated air filter combining a MERV 12 filtration media with an activated carbon layer, sold in a 12-pack. The MERV-rated media and carbon layer are fused together, reducing flow restriction while adding 33% more surface area compared to single-layer designs. This configuration handles both particulate capture and odor control in a single filter. It is rated MERV 12, equivalent to MPR 1500-1900. The nominal size is 20x24x2 inches, with an actual size of 19.38 x 23.38 x 1.75 inches. Licensed HVAC technicians and knowledgeable homeowners install this filter in residential forced-air heating and cooling systems.
This filter is suited for residential and light-commercial HVAC applications where both high particulate filtration and odor reduction are priorities. Typical install scenarios include homes with pets, smokers, or occupants with allergies or asthma, as well as any environment where volatile organic compounds (VOC) or household odors are a concern. The activated carbon layer adsorbs odorous gases and vapors while the electrostatically charged pleated media captures fine particulate matter. The filter is appropriate for use in gas furnaces, heat pumps, and central air conditioning systems using a standard 2-inch filter slot.
Designed as a direct-fit replacement for residential and light-commercial forced-air HVAC systems requiring a 20x24x2-inch nominal filter. Actual installed dimensions are 19.38 x 23.38 x 1.75 inches. Verify the exact opening size in your air handler or furnace cabinet before installation, as nominal and actual filter dimensions differ across manufacturers.
This filter is installed by HVAC technicians or qualified homeowners servicing residential forced-air systems. Power down the air handler or furnace at the disconnect or thermostat before replacing the filter. Confirm airflow direction by matching the arrow printed on the filter frame to the direction of airflow toward the blower. Nordic Pure recommends replacing this filter every 30 to 90 days depending on indoor air quality conditions and system runtime; more frequent changes are warranted during home renovations or high-use periods.
