The NORDIC PURE 20x22x1PM8C-2 is a pleated MERV 8 Plus Carbon air filter sold in a 2-pack, designed for use in residential and light commercial forced-air HVAC systems including gas furnaces and central air conditioning units. The filter uses a dual-layer construction that fuses MERV 8-rated filter media with an activated carbon layer, providing both mechanical particle capture and odor adsorption in a single filter. The activated carbon layer attracts and holds odorous gases and volatile organic compounds (VOCs) while the electrostatically charged pleated media captures airborne particulates. The nominal size is 20x22x1 with an actual size of 19.5 x 21.44 x 0.75 inches. Licensed HVAC technicians and knowledgeable homeowners install this filter.
This filter is suited for residential homes and small commercial spaces where both particulate control and odor reduction are priorities. It performs well in environments with pets, cooking odors, or light smoke. The MERV 8 rating makes it effective against lint, household dust, pollen, dust mites, mold spores, pet dander, and bacteria. The activated carbon layer adds odor control capability beyond what standard MERV 8 filters provide. Nordic Pure rates this filter as equivalent to MPR 800. Filter replacement is recommended every 30 to 90 days depending on indoor air quality conditions and usage. More frequent changes are advised during home renovation or construction activity.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement for standard 20x22x1 nominal filter slots in residential and light commercial forced-air furnace and air conditioning systems. Actual installed size is 19.5 x 21.44 x 0.75 inches. Measure the existing filter slot before ordering to confirm fit.
This filter is installed by HVAC technicians or qualified homeowners servicing forced-air heating and cooling systems. Always shut off the HVAC system at the thermostat or disconnect before replacing the filter. Confirm airflow direction arrows on the filter frame align with the direction of airflow toward the blower. Inspect the filter housing for gaps or bypasses that would allow unfiltered air to pass around the filter media.
