The NORDIC PURE 20x20x4M15-1 is a MERV 15 pleated air filter designed for residential and light commercial forced-air HVAC systems. It uses electrostatically charged, hypoallergenic, antimicrobial synthetic filter media to capture airborne contaminants on every pass. The nominal size is 20x20x4 inches with an actual size of 19.5 x 19.5 x 3.63 inches. The filter achieves greater than 90% capture efficiency for 1.0-10.0 micron particles and up to 85% efficiency for 0.30-1.0 micron particles. A heavy-duty, moisture-resistant beverage board frame and an internal metal mesh support grid hold the pleats in shape under sustained airflow. Licensed HVAC technicians and experienced DIYers install this filter in standard 20x20x4 filter slots.
This filter is suited for residential homes and light commercial spaces where high indoor air quality is a priority. It removes lint, household dust, pollen, dust mite debris, pet dander, smog, smoke particles, virus carriers, bacteria, allergens, and mold spores from circulating air. It is a direct fit for standard 20x20x4 nominal filter slots and is an appropriate upgrade from fiberglass, poly disposable, or washable filters. Note: if the existing filter in your system has an actual depth of 4.375 inches, this unit will not fit - the 20x20x5 variant with a 4.375-inch actual depth is the correct replacement in that case.
Designed as a replacement for standard 20x20x4 nominal filter slots in residential and light commercial forced-air furnace and air handler systems. Actual dimensions are 19.5 x 19.5 x 3.63 inches - verify the actual slot depth before ordering. This filter is not a direct replacement for systems that currently use a filter with a 4.375-inch actual depth, such as certain Honeywell and Lennox units that take a 20x20x5 nominal filter.
This filter is installed by HVAC technicians or qualified service personnel. Always power down the furnace or air handler at the disconnect or thermostat before removing or installing any filter. Confirm airflow direction arrows on the filter frame align with the direction of airflow toward the blower. Inspect the filter slot and door gasket for gaps or bypasses before returning the system to service.
