The NORDIC PURE 20x20x4M12-1 is a MERV 12 pleated air filter designed for residential and light commercial HVAC systems. It captures airborne particulates by using electrostatically charged, hypoallergenic, antimicrobial synthetic filter media bonded to a heavy-duty, moisture-resistant beverage board frame with a metal mesh support grid. At a MERV 12 rating, this filter captures more than 90% of 3.0-10.0 micron contaminants and up to 90% of 1.0-3.0 micron contaminants. HVAC technicians and homeowners handling their own filter maintenance can install this unit in standard 20x20x4 filter slots. The nominal size is 20x20x4 with an actual size of 19.5 x 19.5 x 3.625 inches.
This filter is suited for residential forced-air furnace and air conditioning systems that accept a nominal 20x20x4 filter. It removes lint, household dust, pollen, dust mites, pet dander, smoke particles, virus carriers, bacteria, allergens, and mold spores from recirculated indoor air. MERV 12 performance is comparable to filters rated MPR 1500-1900. Note: if your existing unit holds a filter with an actual depth of 4.375 inches, such as certain Honeywell or Lennox 20x20x4 housings, this filter is not a direct fit. Consult the 20x20x5 (4.375-inch actual depth) option instead for those applications.
Designed for residential and light commercial forced-air furnace and air handler systems that accept a nominal 20x20x4 filter with an actual depth of approximately 3.625 inches. Not compatible with housings requiring an actual depth of 4.375 inches, including certain Honeywell and Lennox 20x20x4 filter cabinets.
Installation is performed by a licensed HVAC technician or qualified service personnel following local mechanical codes. Power down the furnace or air handler at the disconnect or thermostat before accessing the filter cabinet. Verify the actual slot dimensions before inserting the filter; forcing an undersized or oversized filter can allow unfiltered air bypass. Replace this filter every 3 to 6 months under normal operating conditions, or more frequently in high-dust or renovation environments.
