The NORDIC PURE 20x20x1M8-12 is a pleated MERV 8 air filter sold in a 12-pack, designed for residential and light commercial HVAC systems including central air conditioners and gas or electric furnaces. The nominal size is 20x20x1 inches with an actual size of 19.5 x 19.5 x 0.75 inches. The filter media is electrostatically charged and carries an antimicrobial, hypoallergenic treatment to capture airborne contaminants and resist biological growth on the media surface. A moisture-resistant beverage board frame provides structural integrity across the full service life of the filter. HVAC technicians and facilities maintenance professionals commonly stock these filters for routine seasonal changeouts.
This filter is rated for environments where moderate particulate control is required. It captures lint, dust, pollen, bacteria, pet dander, dust mites, mold spores, and similar contaminants on each air pass. The MERV 8 rating is equivalent to MPR 800, following the ASHRAE filtration efficiency standard. It performs well in residential settings with pets or occupants with allergy sensitivities, as well as light commercial applications such as offices. Filter replacement every one to three months is typical, with shorter intervals recommended in high-dust or high-dander environments.
Designed as a standard 20x20x1 nominal replacement filter for residential and light commercial forced-air HVAC systems including central air conditioners and gas, electric, or oil furnaces that accept a 1-inch filter. Verify actual filter slot dimensions against the stated actual size of 19.5 x 19.5 x 0.75 inches before installation, as nominal and actual sizes differ across filter brands.
Filter installation should be performed by a qualified HVAC technician or trained maintenance professional. Always shut down the air handler or furnace at the unit disconnect or thermostat before removing or installing the filter. Note the airflow direction arrow printed on the filter frame and orient it toward the blower, not toward the return duct. Inspect the filter slot and housing for air bypass gaps before closing the access panel, as unfiltered air bypass reduces both indoor air quality and equipment protection.
