The NORDIC PURE 18x25x1PM12C-24 is a dual-media pleated air filter combining a MERV 12 filtration layer with an activated carbon layer fused together into a single filter. The carbon layer adsorbs odorous gases and volatile organic compounds (VOCs) while the electrostatically charged pleated media captures airborne particulates including dust, pollen, pet dander, mold spores, and virus carriers. Each filter measures 17.5 x 24.5 x 0.75 inches actual size and is sold in a case of 24. The antimicrobial filter media resists bacterial and mold growth within the filter itself. Licensed HVAC technicians and building maintenance professionals typically specify this filter for residential and light commercial forced-air systems where both particulate control and odor reduction are required.
This filter is designed for residential and light commercial HVAC applications where occupants experience allergy sensitivities, pet odors, smoke, or general indoor air quality concerns. The MERV 12 rating makes it well-suited for systems that can support a mid-to-high efficiency filter without airflow restriction penalties. The dual-layer construction provides 33 percent more surface area compared to single-layer pleated filters of the same nominal size. Nordic Pure rates this filter equivalent to MPR 1500-1900. Replacement interval is typically every 30 to 90 days depending on occupancy, pets, and indoor air conditions.
Designed as a MERV 12 replacement filter for residential and light commercial forced-air furnace and air conditioning systems with a nominal 18x25x1 filter slot. Verify actual filter compartment dimensions against the actual size of 17.5 x 24.5 x 0.75 inches before installation.
Installation is performed by licensed HVAC technicians or qualified maintenance personnel. Always set the thermostat to off and shut down the air handler or furnace before replacing the filter. Confirm airflow direction arrow on the filter frame aligns with system airflow toward the blower. Check that the system blower motor and ductwork can support MERV 12 static pressure drop before upgrading from a lower-rated filter.
