The NORDIC PURE 18x25x1M12MiniPleat-2 is a MERV 12-rated Tru Mini Pleat air filter sold in a 2-pack, designed for forced-air HVAC systems in residential and light commercial applications. The filter uses a self-supporting synthetic polyester fiber media that achieves a higher pleat density than standard filters, resulting in greater surface area for particle capture while maintaining acceptable static pressure across the filter. The frame is a 2-part, moisture-resistant beverage board construction that holds its shape in humid duct environments. HVAC technicians and service pros will recognize the MERV 12 rating as equivalent to approximately MPR 1500-1900, making this filter appropriate for clients with allergy or air-quality concerns.
This filter is suited for residential forced-air furnaces and central air conditioning systems where improved particulate removal is a priority. Typical applications include occupied homes with pets, allergy sufferers, or post-renovation cleanup situations where airborne particle loads are elevated. The filter effectively captures lint, household dust, pollen, pet dander, dust mites, mold spores, smoke particles, virus carriers, and other common allergens. A replacement interval of every 2-3 months is recommended, though high-traffic or pet-heavy environments may require more frequent changes.
Designed for HVAC systems with a nominal 18x25x1 filter slot. Always verify fitment against the actual filter size of 17.5 x 24.5 x 0.75 inches, as nominal and actual filter dimensions frequently differ across equipment manufacturers. Measure the existing filter or the filter cabinet opening before ordering.
Filter installation and replacement is typically performed by HVAC technicians or qualified service personnel, though experienced homeowners routinely handle filter swaps on accessible equipment. Always set the system thermostat to the off position before removing or installing a filter to prevent unfiltered air from bypassing the media during the change. Confirm airflow direction arrows on the filter frame align with the direction of airflow into the blower. Do not operate the system with a damaged or improperly seated filter, as bypass air degrades both filtration efficiency and indoor air quality.
