The NORDIC PURE 18x24x4PM8C-6 is a MERV 8 pleated plus carbon air filter designed for residential and light commercial forced-air HVAC systems. Each filter combines a MERV-rated pleated media layer fused with an activated carbon layer, delivering dual-stage filtration in a single unit. The carbon layer adsorbs odorous gases and volatile organic compounds (VOCs) while the pleated media captures airborne particulates down to 3.0 microns. The design provides 33 percent more surface area than standard flat filters and maintains low flow restriction. Filters are manufactured with a heavy-duty, moisture-resistant beverage board frame and a bonded metal mesh grid for structural support. The antimicrobial, electrostatic media inhibits bacterial and mold growth within the filter itself. Six filters are included per box.
These filters are suited for residential homes and light commercial spaces where both particulate control and odor management are priorities. Typical applications include households with pets, cooking odors, or occupants with allergy sensitivities. The MERV 8 rating makes this filter appropriate for standard gas furnaces, heat pumps, and central air conditioning systems with 4-inch filter housings. Nordic Pure rates this filter equivalent to MPR 800. Replacement is recommended every 3 to 6 months depending on indoor air conditions, occupancy, and the presence of pets or renovation activity.
Designed for forced-air furnace and air conditioning systems using a 4-inch filter housing with a nominal size of 18x24x4 inches. Actual filter dimensions are 17.5 x 23.375 x 3.625 inches. Measure the existing filter or housing opening and verify against the actual size before ordering, as nominal and actual sizes differ.
Installation is performed by HVAC technicians or qualified service personnel. Power down the air handler or furnace at the disconnect or breaker before removing the old filter. Confirm airflow direction arrows on the filter frame align with the direction of airflow toward the blower. Filters should be inspected regularly and replaced every 3 to 6 months or more frequently in high-dust or high-occupancy environments.
