It uses electrostatically charged, hypoallergenic synthetic media combined with a flat activated carbon panel to capture fine airborne particulates and adsorb odorous gases and volatile organic compounds (VOCs). The nominal size is 18x24x2 inches with an actual size of 17.38 x 23.38 x 1.75 inches. A metal mesh support grid is bonded to the pleats for structural integrity, and the frame is constructed from moisture-resistant beverage board. HVAC systems must be rated to handle MERV 14 or higher filtration before installing this filter.
