The NORDIC PURE 18x24x1PM12C-2 is a dual-layer pleated air filter rated MERV 12 with an integrated activated carbon layer, sold in a 2-pack. The MERV 12 filtration media is fused to a carbon layer, which reduces flow restriction while adding 33 percent more surface area compared to standard pleated construction. The carbon layer adsorbs odorous gases, vapors, and volatile organic compounds (VOCs), while the electrostatically charged pleated media captures fine particulates. The filter frame is a heavy-duty, moisture-resistant beverage board with a bonded metal mesh support grid to hold pleat geometry under airflow pressure. This filter is installed by HVAC technicians and knowledgeable homeowners in residential forced-air heating and cooling systems.
The 18x24x1PM12C-2 is suited for residential and light-commercial forced-air applications where both particulate filtration and odor control are priorities. Typical installations include gas furnaces, air handlers, and central air conditioning systems with a standard 1-inch filter slot. The nominal size is 18x24x1 inches and the actual size is 17.5 x 23.5 x 0.75 inches, so confirm the actual slot dimensions before ordering. The MERV 12 rating is equivalent to an MPR rating of 1500-1900. Households with pets, smokers, allergy sufferers, or ongoing renovation activity are typical use cases for this filter grade.
Designed as a replacement filter for residential and light-commercial forced-air systems using a nominal 18x24x1 inch filter slot. Actual dimensions are 17.5 x 23.5 x 0.75 inches. Measure the existing filter or filter slot before installation to confirm fit, as nominal and actual sizes differ across equipment brands.
Power down the furnace or air handler at the disconnect or thermostat before replacing the filter. Confirm airflow direction and orient the filter so the arrow on the frame points toward the blower. Nordic Pure recommends replacing this filter every 30 to 90 days depending on indoor air quality conditions, with more frequent changes during home renovations or high-use seasons. Dispose of the used filter in a sealed bag to contain captured particulates.
