The NORDIC PURE 18x24x1PCP-12 is a pure carbon pleated air filter rated MERV 8, sold in a 12-pack with a nominal size of 18x24x1 inches and an actual size of 17.5 x 23.5 x 0.75 inches. The filter media consists of a non-woven polyester base infused with activated carbon derived from charcoal and coconut shells. This construction allows the filter to work on two levels: the pleated polyester captures large airborne particles, while the activated carbon adsorbs odors, VOCs, and gaseous contaminants on a molecular level. The beverage board frame is moisture resistant, and a metal mesh support grid bonds to the pleats to maintain structural integrity under airflow. The media does not support mold growth.
This filter is suited for residential forced-air furnace and air conditioning systems where odor control is a priority alongside particulate filtration. Common applications include homes with pets, smokers, or heavy cooking activity, as well as apartments and small commercial spaces. The filter can also serve as a pre-filter stage in high-efficiency commercial HVAC units handling strong or persistent odor sources. Recommended replacement interval is every 30 to 90 days depending on air quality conditions and usage environment.
Designed as a direct-fit replacement for standard residential and light commercial forced-air furnace and air handler systems accepting a nominal 18x24x1 inch filter. Verify the actual filter slot dimensions against the actual size of 17.5 x 23.5 x 0.75 inches before installation.
Installation is performed by HVAC technicians or qualified service personnel. Power down the air handler or furnace at the disconnect before servicing the filter compartment. Confirm airflow direction and install the filter with the directional arrow on the frame pointing toward the blower. Filters should be inspected regularly and replaced every 30 to 90 days under normal operating conditions, or more frequently during renovation, high-dust, or high-odor periods.
