The NORDIC PURE 16x25x4M15+C-1 is a MERV 15 pleated air filter with an integrated activated carbon layer, designed for residential and light-commercial HVAC systems. The filter combines electrostatically charged synthetic media with a flat activated carbon panel to capture fine particulates and adsorb odorous gases and volatile organic compounds (VOCs). It captures more than 90% of 1.0-10.0 micron contaminants and up to 85% of 0.30-1.0 micron contaminants per pass. The frame is constructed from heavy-duty, moisture-resistant beverage board, and a bonded metal mesh support grid reinforces the pleats. Licensed HVAC technicians and experienced DIYers install this filter in forced-air furnace and air handler applications.
This filter fits standard 16x25x4 nominal filter slots with an actual size of 15.5 x 24.5 x 3.63 inches. It is well suited for residential environments where occupants have allergy sensitivities, pet dander concerns, or odor control needs. The MERV 15 rating makes it appropriate for high-performance residential systems capable of handling the associated static pressure load. Note: if the existing filter in the unit has an actual depth of 4.375 inches (such as certain Honeywell or Lennox 16x25x4 housings), the correct replacement is the 16x25x5 variant, not this filter.
Designed for 16x25x4 nominal filter housings in residential forced-air furnace and air handler systems with an actual filter opening that accepts a 15.5 x 24.5 x 3.63 inch filter. Not a direct fit for housings requiring a 4.375 inch actual depth, including certain Honeywell and Lennox 16x25x4 units; those applications require the 16x25x5 replacement.
Installation is performed by a licensed HVAC technician or qualified service professional. Always shut down the furnace or air handler at the system disconnect or thermostat before removing or installing the filter. Confirm airflow direction arrows on the filter frame align with the direction of airflow toward the blower. Nordic Pure recommends replacing this filter every 3 to 6 months under normal operating conditions; high-dust or high-occupancy environments may require more frequent changes.
