The NORDIC PURE 16x25x2PM12C-12 is a pleated MERV 12 air filter with an integrated activated carbon layer, sold in a 12-pack. The dual-material construction fuses a MERV 12-rated filtration media directly with a carbon layer, reducing flow restriction while adding 33% more surface area compared to single-layer designs. Activated carbon captures odorous gases and volatile organic compounds (VOCs), while the electrostatically charged pleated media traps fine airborne particulate. The nominal size is 16x25x2 inches with an actual size of 15.5 x 24.5 x 1.75 inches. Licensed HVAC technicians and knowledgeable DIYers install these filters in residential and light-commercial forced-air systems.
This filter is designed for forced-air heating and cooling systems where both particulate filtration and odor control are required. It is well-suited for households with pets, smokers, or occupants with allergies or respiratory sensitivities. The MERV 12 rating makes it appropriate for residential applications that demand higher filtration efficiency without the airflow penalties associated with MERV 13 and above. Nordic Pure rates this filter equivalent to MPR 1500-1900. The 12-pack format is practical for service technicians stocking filters for multiple units or for homeowners on a regular filter-change schedule.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement for residential and light-commercial forced-air furnace and air handler systems that accept a 16x25x2 nominal filter. Actual installed size is 15.5 x 24.5 x 1.75 inches - measure the filter slot before ordering to confirm fit.
Power down the furnace or air handler at the thermostat or disconnect before replacing the filter. Note the airflow direction arrow printed on the filter frame and orient it to match the direction of air movement toward the blower. Nordic Pure recommends changing this filter every 30 to 90 days depending on indoor conditions, occupancy, and any ongoing renovation activity. Consult local mechanical codes and the equipment manufacturer's guidelines for minimum filter MERV ratings and maximum static pressure drop allowances.
