The NORDIC PURE 16x24x4PM10C-1 is a MERV 10 pleated air filter with an integrated activated carbon layer, designed for residential and light-commercial HVAC systems. The dual-material construction fuses the MERV-rated filtration media directly with carbon, reducing flow restriction while expanding surface area by approximately 33 percent compared to standard pleated designs. The activated carbon layer attracts and retains odorous gases and volatile organic compounds (VOCs), while the electrostatically charged pleated media captures particulate matter. The filter frame is constructed from moisture-resistant beverage board with a bonded metal mesh support grid for structural integrity. Licensed HVAC technicians and knowledgeable homeowners install this filter as a direct drop-in HVAC replacement.
This filter is suited for residential forced-air furnace and air conditioning systems where both particulate control and odor reduction are priorities. Typical applications include households with pets, smokers, or allergy sufferers, as well as environments with elevated VOC levels from paints, cleaning agents, or renovation activity. The nominal size is 16x24x4, with an actual size of 15.38 x 23.38 x 3.63 inches, making it compatible with filter slots sized for that nominal dimension. The antimicrobial media inhibits bacterial and mold growth within the filter itself. Replacement is recommended every 30 to 90 days depending on indoor air quality conditions and system runtime.
Designed as a direct replacement for residential and light-commercial forced-air furnace and air handler filter slots with a nominal size of 16x24x4. Always verify the actual filter slot dimensions against the actual size of 15.38 x 23.38 x 3.63 inches before installation.
Power down the HVAC system at the thermostat or disconnect before removing the existing filter. Note the airflow direction arrow printed on the filter frame and orient the replacement filter so the arrow points toward the blower, not the return air duct. Slide the filter fully into the slot so no gaps exist around the frame perimeter, as bypass air around an unseated filter reduces both filtration efficiency and carbon odor control. Dispose of the used filter in a sealed bag to contain captured particulates.
