The NORDIC PURE 16x24x1PM12C-3 is a pleated MERV 12 air filter with an activated carbon layer, designed for residential and light-commercial HVAC systems. The dual-layer construction fuses a MERV 12-rated filtration media with a carbon layer, reducing flow restriction while adding 33 percent more surface area compared to single-layer designs. This combination captures fine particulate matter and simultaneously attracts odorous gases and volatile organic compounds (VOCs) to the carbon layer. The filter ships in a pack of three. Licensed HVAC technicians and experienced DIYers install this filter as a routine maintenance replacement in forced-air furnace and air conditioning systems.
This filter is suited for residential forced-air systems where odor control and high particulate filtration are both required. Typical applications include homes with pets, smokers, allergy sufferers, or recent renovation activity that introduces elevated dust, dander, and airborne particulates. The nominal size is 16x24x1 with an actual size of 15.5 x 23.5 x 0.75 inches, fitting standard filter slots that call for a 16x24x1 nominal dimension. The MERV 12 rating makes it comparable to filters rated MPR 1500-1900. Each pack contains three filters, supporting a standard 30-to-90-day replacement cycle.
Designed as a standard replacement filter for residential and light-commercial forced-air furnace and air conditioning systems using a 16x24x1 nominal filter slot. Verify the actual filter cavity dimensions against the actual size of 15.5 x 23.5 x 0.75 inches before installation.
Installation is performed by a licensed HVAC technician or a knowledgeable DIYer during routine preventive maintenance. Always shut down the furnace or air handler at the thermostat and at the disconnect before removing the old filter. Note the airflow direction arrow printed on the filter frame and orient the replacement filter so the arrow points toward the blower and away from the return air duct. Replace this filter every 30 to 90 days depending on usage conditions, occupancy, and indoor air quality demands.
