The filter uses a dual-layer media construction that fuses a MERV 12-rated pleated layer with an activated carbon layer. This design reduces flow restriction while adding approximately 33 percent more surface area compared to single-layer pleated media. The activated carbon captures odorous gases and volatile organic compounds (VOCs) while the pleated layer traps airborne particulates.
