The NORDIC PURE 16x20x4PCP-2 is a pure carbon pleated air filter rated MERV 8, sold in a 2-pack. The filter media is a non-woven polyester base infused with naturally derived charcoal, designed to capture airborne particles while actively neutralizing odors and reducing Volatile Organic Compounds (VOCs). The nominal size is 16x20x4 inches with an actual size of 15.5 x 19.5 x 3.63 inches. A heavy-duty, moisture-resistant beverage board frame and a metal mesh support grid bonded to the pleats give the filter structural integrity under normal HVAC static pressure. Licensed HVAC technicians and facilities maintenance personnel install this filter in forced-air systems.
This filter is suited for residential forced-air furnace and air handler applications as a stand-alone odor-reduction filter. It also serves as a pre-filter in higher-efficiency commercial HVAC systems where odor loading is elevated. Common install environments include apartments, pet-occupied residences, commercial kitchens, and spaces with smoke or chemical odor sources. The filter targets odors from pets, cooking, smoke, garbage, and household cleaning chemicals. Nordic Pure recommends replacing this filter every 3 to 6 months for maximum odor control and airflow efficiency.
Designed as a direct-fit replacement for standard 16x20x4 nominal filter slots. Actual size is 15.5 x 19.5 x 3.63 inches - verify the actual slot depth before ordering, as some manufacturer housings, including certain Honeywell units, require a 4.375-inch-depth filter; those applications require a different SKU.
Installation is performed by a licensed HVAC technician or qualified facilities maintenance personnel. Power down or set the thermostat to off before opening the filter cabinet or accessing the return-air filter rack. Confirm airflow direction before inserting - the arrow on the filter frame must point toward the blower, away from the return air stream. Replace this filter every 3 to 6 months, or more frequently in high-odor or high-particulate environments, to maintain rated MERV 8 efficiency and system airflow.
