The NORDIC PURE 16x20x2M7-3 is a MERV 7 pleated air filter sold in a 3-pack, designed for residential and light commercial HVAC systems including forced-air furnaces and central air conditioning units. Each filter measures 15.5 x 19.5 x 1.75 inches actual size in a nominal 16x20x2 frame. The electrostatically charged, pleated filter media captures large airborne particles such as household dust, mold spores, pollen, and pet dander on every air pass. The moisture-resistant beverage board frame holds its shape under sustained airflow. Licensed HVAC technicians and knowledgeable homeowners install this filter as a routine maintenance replacement.
This filter is suited for standard 16x20x2 filter slots in residential gas furnaces, heat pumps, and split-system air handlers, as well as light commercial air handling units that accept the same nominal size. MERV 7 performance is equivalent to MPR 600 on the 3M Filtrete scale, making it a direct cross-reference for techs specifying by either rating system. Typical service intervals are one to three months, though environments with high pet dander loads or active allergy concerns generally call for more frequent changes. Regular filter replacement supports proper static pressure balance across the air handler coil and blower wheel.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement filter for residential and light commercial HVAC systems requiring a nominal 16x20x2 filter. Actual dimensions are 15.5 x 19.5 x 1.75 inches. Verify the actual slot dimensions of the filter cabinet before installation, as nominal and actual sizes differ across equipment brands.
Filter replacement is a routine maintenance task performed by licensed HVAC technicians or qualified building maintenance personnel. Set the system thermostat to the off position and confirm the blower has stopped before removing the existing filter. Insert the new filter with the airflow arrow on the frame pointing toward the blower or furnace heat exchanger, away from the return air duct. Dispose of the used filter in a sealed bag to contain captured particulate.
