The NORDIC PURE 16x20x2M13+C-3 is a pleated MERV 13 air filter with an integrated activated carbon layer, designed for residential and light-commercial HVAC systems. The filter media is electrostatically charged synthetic material that captures airborne particulates down to the submicron range, while a flat panel infused with activated charcoal adsorbs odorous gases, vapors, and VOCs. The nominal size is 16x20x2 inches with an actual size of 15.5 x 19.5 x 1.75 inches. This pack contains 3 filters. Licensed HVAC technicians and experienced DIYers install this filter as a routine maintenance replacement in forced-air heating and cooling systems.
This filter suits residential homes and offices where both particulate control and odor elimination are priorities. It captures lint, household dust, pollen, smoke particles, dust mites, pet dander, smog, virus carriers, mold spores, and similar contaminants. The activated carbon component addresses cooking odors, pet odors, and VOC vapors that standard pleated filters do not adsorb. The antimicrobial media inhibits bacterial and mold growth within the filter itself, supporting cleaner airflow between change intervals. Replacement is recommended every 30 to 90 days depending on indoor and outdoor conditions, with more frequent changes advised during home renovations or high-pollen seasons.
Designed as a direct-fit replacement for standard residential and light-commercial forced-air furnace and air handler filter slots accepting a 16x20x2 inch nominal filter. Always verify the actual slot dimensions against the actual filter size of 15.5 x 19.5 x 1.75 inches before installation, as nominal and actual sizes differ.
Power down or set the thermostat to the off position before removing the existing filter to prevent unfiltered air from circulating through the system. Confirm airflow direction by matching the arrow printed on the filter frame to the direction of airflow toward the blower. Dispose of the used filter in a sealed bag to contain captured particulates. Follow the manufacturer recommendation of a 30-to-90-day replacement interval, adjusting frequency based on household conditions such as pets, renovations, or high outdoor pollen counts.
