The NORDIC PURE 16x16x2PM10C-12 is a dual-layer pleated air filter combining a MERV 10 filtration medium with a fused activated carbon layer. Rated MERV 10 and equivalent to MPR 1000, this filter captures airborne particulate while the carbon layer adsorbs odorous gases and volatile organic compounds (VOCs). The nominal size is 16x16x2 inches with an actual size of 15.5 x 15.5 x 1.75 inches. This 12-pack is designed for use in residential and light-commercial forced-air heating and cooling systems. Installation is performed by HVAC technicians or qualified service personnel during routine filter maintenance.
This filter is suited for residential HVAC applications where both particulate control and odor reduction are priorities. The pleated plus carbon construction addresses environments with pets, cooking odors, smoke, or other VOC sources. The dual-material design increases surface area by approximately 33 percent compared to standard single-layer media, reducing flow restriction while improving odor capture. It is appropriate for furnaces, air handlers, and central air conditioning systems that accept a 16x16x2 nominal filter slot. Replacing filters every 30 to 90 days is recommended to maintain system efficiency, with more frequent changes advised during renovation or high-dust-load periods.
Designed as a direct replacement for residential and light-commercial forced-air HVAC systems accepting a 16x16x2 nominal filter size. Actual installed dimensions are 15.5 x 15.5 x 1.75 inches - verify the actual slot dimensions before ordering, as nominal and actual filter sizes frequently differ across equipment manufacturers.
Filter replacement is a routine maintenance task performed by HVAC technicians or trained service personnel. Always set the system thermostat to the off position and confirm the air handler has stopped before removing the existing filter. Insert the new filter with the airflow arrow on the frame pointing toward the blower. Dispose of the used filter in a sealed bag to contain captured particulate.
