The NORDIC PURE 14x25x1PM12C-3 is a MERV 12 pleated plus carbon air filter sold in a 3-pack, designed for residential and light commercial HVAC systems including forced-air furnaces and central air conditioning units. The filter uses a dual-layer construction where MERV 12-rated filter media is fused with an activated carbon layer. This design reduces flow restriction while adding 33% more surface area compared to single-layer pleated filters. The activated carbon layer adsorbs odorous gases and volatile organic compounds (VOCs) while the electrostatically charged pleated media captures airborne particulates. The nominal size is 14x25x1 inches with an actual size of 13.5 x 24.5 x 0.75 inches. HVAC technicians and installers place this filter in standard 1-inch filter slots in residential air handlers and furnace systems.
This filter is suited for residential and light commercial applications where both odor control and high particulate filtration are required. Typical installations include forced-air gas or electric furnace systems and central AC air handlers using standard 1-inch filter tracks. The MERV 12 rating makes it appropriate for environments with elevated concerns about pet dander, pollen, mold spores, dust mites, smoke particles, lint, household dust, virus carriers, bacteria, and allergens. The carbon layer addresses odor complaints that standard pleated MERV filters cannot resolve. The 3-pack format supports a standard quarterly filter replacement schedule. NORDIC PURE rates this filter as equivalent to MPR 1500-1900 on the 3M Filtrete scale.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement for residential and light commercial forced-air furnace and central air conditioning systems using standard 1-inch filter slots with a nominal 14x25x1 inch opening. Actual filter dimensions are 13.5 x 24.5 x 0.75 inches - verify actual slot dimensions before ordering, as nominal and actual sizes differ across equipment manufacturers.
Filter installation and replacement is typically performed by HVAC technicians or qualified service personnel. Always shut down the furnace or air handler at the thermostat and disconnect power at the disconnect switch or breaker before removing or inserting a filter. Verify airflow direction by matching the arrow printed on the filter frame to the direction of airflow toward the blower. Replace this filter every 30 to 90 days depending on indoor air quality conditions, occupancy, pet presence, and whether any renovation or construction activity is occurring in the space.
