The NORDIC PURE 14x20x1PM8C-2 is a pleated MERV 8 air filter with an integrated activated carbon layer, designed for residential and light-commercial HVAC systems. The dual-material construction fuses a MERV 8 electrostatically charged filter media with a carbon layer, reducing flow restriction while increasing surface area by 33 percent. The activated carbon attracts and holds odorous gases and volatile organic compounds (VOCs), while the pleated media captures airborne particulates including dust, pollen, dust mites, mold spores, pet dander, and bacteria. This filter is sold as a 2-pack and is installed by HVAC technicians or knowledgeable homeowners during routine filter maintenance.
This filter is suited for residential furnaces, air handlers, and central air conditioning systems where both particulate filtration and odor control are priorities. It is a strong choice for homes with pets, cooking odors, or occupants with allergies. The MERV 8 rating makes it effective for general residential use without placing excessive static pressure on standard residential HVAC equipment. Nordic Pure rates this filter equivalent to MPR 800. The nominal size is 14x20x1, with an actual size of 13.5 x 19.5 x 0.75 inches, which is standard for most filters labeled at this nominal dimension.
Designed as a standard 14x20x1 nominal size replacement filter for residential furnaces, air handlers, and central HVAC systems that accept a filter measuring approximately 13.5 x 19.5 x 0.75 inches actual size. Verify the actual slot dimensions before ordering, as nominal and actual filter sizes differ on nearly all systems.
Filter replacement is a routine maintenance task performed by HVAC technicians or qualified homeowners. Always shut off the HVAC system at the thermostat before removing the old filter. Note the airflow direction arrow printed on the filter frame and orient the new filter with the arrow pointing toward the blower. Nordic Pure recommends changing this filter every 30 to 90 days depending on indoor air quality conditions, occupancy, and pet presence.
