The NORDIC PURE 14x20x1M8-4 is a MERV 8 pleated air filter sold in a 4-pack, designed for use in residential and light commercial HVAC systems including forced-air furnaces and central air conditioning equipment. The filter carries a nominal size of 14x20x1 inches with an actual size of 13.5 x 19.5 x 0.75 inches. Filter media is electrostatically charged and rated to capture lint, dust, pollen, bacteria, pet dander, dust mites, mold spores, and similar airborne contaminants. The heavy-duty beverage board frame is moisture resistant, and the media is antimicrobial, meaning it will not promote bacterial or mold growth on the filter surface itself. Licensed HVAC technicians and knowledgeable homeowners both install this filter type.
This filter is suited for residential forced-air systems, light commercial air handlers, and any application requiring a standard 14x20x1 nominal filter slot. MERV 8 is appropriate for environments with pets, allergy sufferers, or above-average dust loads. Nordic Pure MERV 8 filtration is equivalent to the MPR 800 rating scale used by some other manufacturers. The ASHRAE MERV standard governs filter efficiency testing regardless of brand-specific rating names. Replacement interval is typically every one to three months, with more frequent changes recommended in high-dust or high-pet-dander environments.
Designed as a direct replacement for any residential or light commercial forced-air furnace or central AC system requiring a nominal 14x20x1 inch air filter. Verify the actual filter slot dimensions against the actual size of 13.5 x 19.5 x 0.75 inches before installation, as nominal and actual sizes differ across manufacturers.
Power down or set the thermostat to off before opening the filter compartment and removing the old filter. Note the airflow direction arrow printed on the filter frame and install so the arrow points toward the blower and away from the return air duct. Dispose of the used filter in a sealed bag to contain captured particulates. Follow the equipment manufacturer service interval guidelines and local indoor air quality requirements when scheduling filter replacements.
