The NORDIC PURE 14x20x1M13MiniPleat-6 is a MERV 13 Tru Mini Pleat air filter sold in a pack of six, designed for residential and light commercial HVAC systems including forced-air furnaces and central air conditioners. The actual dimensions are 13.5 x 19.5 x 0.75 inches, fitting openings nominally labeled 14x20x1. The synthetic polyester fiber media is self-supporting and built with 2.5 times more pleats than a standard filter, increasing surface area for finer particle capture without significantly restricting airflow. The frame is a two-part, moisture-resistant beverage board construction. Licensed HVAC technicians and knowledgeable DIYers alike install these as routine maintenance replacements.
These filters suit residential homes and commercial spaces where improved indoor air quality is a priority. Common install scenarios include single-family homes with gas or electric forced-air systems, multi-unit residential buildings, and light commercial applications where allergen and particulate control is required. The MERV 13 rating makes them appropriate for environments with occupants sensitive to dust, pollen, pet dander, mold spores, smoke particles, and similar airborne contaminants. The supplier recommends replacing filters every two to three months depending on environment and usage, with more frequent changes during renovations or periods of elevated particulate activity.
Designed as a direct-fit replacement for residential and light commercial HVAC systems with a nominal 14x20x1 filter slot; always verify the actual opening measurement against the 13.5 x 19.5 x 0.75 inch actual size before installation, as nominal and actual filter dimensions frequently differ across equipment brands and models.
Air filters of this type are installed by HVAC technicians or qualified DIYers as part of routine preventive maintenance. Always shut down the HVAC system at the thermostat and, where practical, at the disconnect or breaker before removing the old filter. Note the airflow direction arrow printed on the filter frame and orient the replacement to match before closing the access panel. Dispose of the used filter in a sealed bag to contain captured particulates.
