The NORDIC PURE 14x18x1M12-3 is a pleated MERV 12 air filter sold in a 3-pack, designed for residential and light commercial HVAC systems including forced-air furnaces and central air conditioning units. The filter media is electrostatically charged and rated at MERV 12, equivalent to MPR 1500-1900, making it effective at capturing fine particulates such as lint, household dust, pollen, smoke particles, dust mites, pet dander, mold spores, virus carriers, and bacteria. The heavy-duty beverage board frame is moisture resistant and holds its shape under normal system airflow. Each filter has a nominal size of 14x18x1 and an actual size of 13.5 x 17.5 x 0.75 inches. Licensed HVAC technicians and knowledgeable homeowners typically handle installation.
This filter fits standard 14x18x1 filter slots in residential forced-air systems and light commercial air handlers. It is well suited for households with pets or occupants managing moderate allergies or asthma, where higher-efficiency filtration is a priority. The MERV 12 rating captures particles in the 1-3 micron range more effectively than standard fiberglass or low-MERV panel filters. Nordic Pure recommends replacing the filter every 1 to 3 months depending on system usage, household conditions, and indoor air quality demands. Always verify the actual slot dimensions before installation, as nominal and actual filter sizes often differ.
Designed as a direct replacement for nominal 14x18x1 air filters in residential forced-air furnaces and central air conditioning systems. Always confirm the actual filter slot dimensions measure approximately 13.5 x 17.5 x 0.75 inches before installation.
Power down or set the thermostat to off before opening the filter compartment. Confirm airflow direction and install the filter with the arrow on the frame pointing toward the blower. HVAC technicians should verify the filter slot accommodates the 0.75-inch depth to ensure a proper seal and prevent air bypass. Replace every 1 to 3 months, or more frequently in high-dust or high-pet-dander environments.
