The NORDIC PURE 14x14x1PM12C-12 is a pleated, activated-carbon air filter rated MERV 12, sold in a 12-pack. The filter media combines a MERV 12-rated pleated layer fused with an activated carbon layer, reducing flow restriction while increasing surface area by 33 percent compared to single-layer designs. The carbon layer adsorbs odorous gases and volatile organic compounds (VOCs), while the electrostatically charged pleated media captures airborne particulates including dust, pollen, pet dander, mold spores, smoke particles, and virus carriers. The antimicrobial filter media resists bacterial and mold growth. Licensed HVAC technicians and knowledgeable residential owners install this filter in forced-air furnace and air conditioning systems.
This filter is designed for residential and light commercial forced-air HVAC systems where both particulate filtration and odor control are required. Typical applications include homes with pets, smokers, or allergy sufferers, and environments undergoing renovation where elevated dust and VOC levels are a concern. The nominal size is 14x14x1 inches, with an actual size of 13.75 x 13.75 x 0.75 inches. The MERV 12 rating is equivalent to a Microparticle Performance Rating (MPR) of 1500-1900. The 12-pack format supports a 30-to-90-day replacement cycle, making it practical for annual stocking.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement filter for residential and light commercial forced-air furnace and central air conditioning systems that accept a 14x14x1 nominal filter size. Verify actual slot dimensions against the filter actual size of 13.75 x 13.75 x 0.75 inches before installation.
Filter installation is a general maintenance task performed by HVAC technicians or knowledgeable homeowners. Set the system thermostat to off and shut down the air handler before removing the old filter. Note the airflow direction arrow printed on the filter frame and orient the replacement filter so the arrow points toward the blower. Replace filters every 30 to 90 days depending on environmental conditions; more frequent replacement is recommended during construction, high-pollen seasons, or heavy pet shedding periods.
