The NORDIC PURE 12x30x1PM12C-2 is a pleated MERV 12 air filter with an integrated activated carbon layer, designed for residential and light-commercial HVAC systems. The dual-material construction fuses a MERV 12 electrostatic filtration layer with an activated carbon layer, delivering both particulate capture and odor reduction in a single filter. Actual dimensions are 11.88 x 29.88 x 0.75 inches, fitting nominal 12x30x1 filter slots. The pleated design provides 33 percent more surface area than flat-panel alternatives, reducing flow restriction while maintaining filtration efficiency. This filter is installed by HVAC technicians and knowledgeable homeowners during routine maintenance.
This filter suits forced-air furnaces and central air conditioning systems requiring a nominal 12x30x1 slot. It is well suited for residential environments where odor control is a priority alongside high-efficiency particulate filtration - such as homes with pets, smokers, or occupants with allergies or asthma. The activated carbon layer attracts and retains odorous gases, vapors, and VOCs with each air pass. The antimicrobial filter media resists bacterial and mold growth inside the filter. The moisture-resistant beverage board frame and internal metal mesh support grid maintain pleat integrity throughout the service life. Nordic Pure MERV 12 performance is rated equivalent to MPR 1500-1900.
Designed as a direct replacement for nominal 12x30x1 filter slots in residential and light-commercial forced-air furnace and central air conditioning systems. Actual filter size is 11.88 x 29.88 x 0.75 inches - verify the actual slot dimensions before installation rather than relying solely on the nominal size printed on the existing filter.
Replacement of air filters is a standard HVAC maintenance task performed by licensed technicians or qualified homeowners. Always set the system thermostat to the off position and allow the air handler to come to a complete stop before opening the filter compartment. Confirm airflow direction arrows on the filter frame align with the direction of airflow into the air handler or furnace. Nordic Pure recommends replacing this filter every 30 to 90 days depending on indoor conditions, occupancy, and local air quality.
