The NORDIC PURE 12x25x2PM12C-3 is a pleated MERV 12 air filter with an integrated activated carbon layer, sold in a 3-pack for residential and light commercial HVAC applications. The dual-layer media fuses a MERV 12-rated filtration material with an activated carbon layer, reducing airflow restriction while providing 33% more surface area compared to standard pleated designs. This construction allows the filter to capture fine particulates while also adsorbing odorous gases and volatile organic compounds (VOCs). The filter media is permanently electrostatically charged to attract and hold airborne particles. An antimicrobial treatment on the media inhibits the growth of bacteria and mold within the filter itself. A licensed HVAC technician or knowledgeable homeowner can install this filter as a routine maintenance replacement.
This filter is suited for residential forced-air furnace and air conditioning systems where both particulate filtration and odor control are priorities. Typical applications include homes with pets, smokers, or occupants with allergies or asthma. It is also well suited for environments with elevated VOC levels such as recently renovated spaces. The nominal size is 12x25x2, with an actual size of 11.5 x 24.5 x 1.75 inches. The filter is designed to outperform fiberglass, poly disposable, and washable filter types. Nordic Pure rates this MERV 12 filter as equivalent to MPR 1500-1900 rated filters. Replacement is recommended every 30 to 90 days depending on indoor and outdoor air quality conditions.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement filter for residential and light commercial forced-air furnace and air conditioning systems using a 12x25x2 nominal filter size. Verify actual filter slot dimensions against the actual size of 11.5 x 24.5 x 1.75 inches before installation, as nominal and actual sizes differ on most systems.
Power down the furnace or air handler at the thermostat or disconnect before replacing the filter. Note the airflow direction arrow printed on the filter frame and align it with the direction of airflow toward the blower. Replace the filter every 30 to 90 days, or more frequently in high-dust or high-pollen environments. Measure the existing filter slot before ordering to confirm the actual size fits your system.
