The NORDIC PURE 12x24x4M14+C-6 is a MERV 14 pleated air filter with activated carbon, sold in a 6-pack for residential and light-commercial HVAC systems. The filter combines electrostatically charged synthetic media with a flat-panel activated charcoal layer. This dual-stage design handles mechanical particle capture at MERV 14 efficiency while the activated carbon layer adsorbs odorous gases and volatile organic compounds (VOCs). The nominal size is 12x24x4 inches with an actual size of 11.5 x 23.38 x 3.63 inches. The media captures more than 90 percent of 1.0-10.0 micron contaminants and up to 85 percent of 0.30-1.0 micron contaminants. The frame is moisture-resistant beverage board with a metal mesh grid bonded to the pleats for structural support.
This filter is suited for residential homes and light-commercial spaces where both high-particulate filtration and odor control are required. Typical applications include high-efficiency forced-air furnace and air conditioning systems rated to accept MERV 14 media or higher. The filter traps airborne dust, pollen, mold spores, pet dander, smoke particles, smog, dust mite debris, and bacteria while the activated carbon layer addresses household odors and VOCs. Because MERV 14 media creates higher airflow restriction than lower-rated filters, the HVAC system must be rated to handle MERV 14 or above before installing this filter. Nordic Pure recommends replacing the filter every 3 to 6 months under normal operating conditions.
Designed for forced-air furnace and central air conditioning systems that accept a 12x24x4 nominal filter slot and are rated to operate with MERV 14 or higher filtration media. Actual filter dimensions are 11.5 x 23.38 x 3.63 inches; verify the actual slot dimensions before ordering.
Filter replacement is typically performed by HVAC technicians or qualified service personnel. Always shut down the air handler or furnace at the disconnect or thermostat before removing or installing the filter. Confirm airflow direction by matching the arrow printed on the filter frame to the direction of airflow toward the blower. Because MERV 14 media restricts airflow more than standard filters, verify that the existing system is rated for high-MERV media to avoid blower strain or heat exchanger stress.
