The NORDIC PURE 12x20x2PM10C-3 is a MERV 10 pleated plus activated carbon air filter sold in a 3-pack. It uses a dual-layer construction that fuses a MERV 10-rated filtration media with an activated carbon layer, delivering both particulate capture and odor reduction in a single filter. The nominal size is 12x20x2 inches, with an actual size of 11.5 x 19.38 x 1.75 inches. The electrostatically charged, antimicrobial media resists bacterial and mold growth while maintaining low flow restriction. A heavy-duty, moisture-resistant beverage board frame with a bonded metal mesh support grid holds the pleats in shape throughout the filter life. Licensed HVAC technicians and experienced DIYers install this filter in residential and light commercial forced-air systems.
This filter is suited for residential and light commercial HVAC applications where both particulate filtration and odor control are required. It is appropriate for households with pets, smokers, or occupants with allergies or asthma. The activated carbon layer adsorbs volatile organic compounds (VOCs), odorous gases, and vapors that standard pleated filters cannot capture. It targets lint, household dust, pollen, smoke particles, dust mites, pet dander, virus carriers, mold spores, allergens, and bacteria. The MERV 10 rating makes it equivalent to MPR 1000-rated filters, outperforming standard fiberglass, poly disposable, and non-electrostatic washable filters in both particle capture and odor reduction.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement for residential and light commercial forced-air furnace and air handler systems that accept a nominal 12x20x2 inch air filter. Verify the actual slot dimensions against the filter actual size of 11.5 x 19.38 x 1.75 inches before installation, as nominal and actual filter dimensions differ.
HVAC technicians and qualified installers should power down the furnace or air handler at the disconnect or thermostat before replacing the filter. Confirm airflow direction by matching the arrow printed on the filter frame to the direction of airflow toward the blower. Filters should be inspected regularly and replaced every 30 to 90 days depending on indoor conditions, occupancy, and the presence of pets or renovation activity. Follow local mechanical codes and the equipment manufacturer guidelines for filter maintenance intervals.
