The NORDIC PURE 12x18x1PM10C-6 is a pleated MERV 10 air filter with an integrated activated carbon layer, sold in a 6-pack with a nominal size of 12x18x1 inches and an actual size of 11.5 x 17.5 x 0.75 inches. The dual-material construction fuses a MERV 10 rated filtration layer with activated carbon to capture airborne particulates while simultaneously adsorbing odorous gases and volatile organic compounds (VOCs). The result is reduced flow restriction and approximately 33 percent more surface area compared to single-layer pleated filters. Permanently electrostatically charged filter media acts as a magnet to capture fine particles, and the antimicrobial media inhibits the growth of bacteria and mold. Licensed HVAC technicians and knowledgeable DIYers install this filter in residential and light-commercial forced-air systems.
This filter is suited for residential and light-commercial HVAC applications where both particulate filtration and odor control are priorities. Typical install environments include homes with pets, smokers, or allergy sufferers, as well as spaces undergoing renovation where dust and VOC loads are elevated. The MERV 10 rating makes it appropriate for standard residential furnaces and air handlers where the system can support a mid-efficiency pleated filter without excessive static pressure drop. Nordic Pure rates this filter equivalent to MPR 1000, providing a useful cross-reference for customers familiar with that rating system. Filter service life varies by environment, with replacement recommended every 30 to 90 days under normal operating conditions.
Designed as a standard nominal 12x18x1 replacement filter for residential and light-commercial forced-air furnaces, air handlers, and HVAC systems that accept 12x18x1 nominal filter slots. Verify fit using the actual size of 11.5 x 17.5 x 0.75 inches before installation, as nominal and actual filter dimensions commonly differ across equipment brands.
Installation is performed by licensed HVAC technicians or qualified service personnel; always power down the furnace or air handler at the disconnect or thermostat before replacing the filter. Confirm airflow direction by matching the arrow printed on the filter frame to the direction of airflow toward the blower. Because actual filter dimensions differ from nominal, measure the existing filter or filter slot before ordering to confirm fit. Filters installed in systems running at high static pressure or with undersized return plenums should be monitored more frequently to avoid airflow restriction.
