The NOMACO PESFRED21 is an IPS socket fusion fitting designed for joining polyethylene piping systems using heat fusion methods. This reducer fitting transitions from a 2-inch IPS inlet to a 1-inch IPS outlet, making it a standard component in PE pipe installations where line size changes are required. Socket fusion fittings are joined by heating both the fitting socket and the pipe end to a specified temperature, then pushing them together to form a permanent, leak-free bond. Plumbers and pipe fusion technicians install this fitting in water service, geothermal, and general fluid-conveyance applications.
This fitting is suited for residential and light commercial PE piping installations where a concentric reduction is needed in an IPS-dimensioned polyethylene pipe run. It is installed using standard socket fusion tooling matched to the 2-inch and 1-inch IPS pipe sizes. The socket fusion joint method makes it appropriate for use in buried or above-ground service lines where a consistent, pressure-rated connection is required.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement and standard-use fitting for IPS-dimensioned polyethylene pipe systems requiring a 2-inch to 1-inch socket fusion reducer.
Installation requires a qualified plumber or pipe fusion technician using properly sized socket fusion tooling calibrated to IPS pipe dimensions. Power down or depressurize the piping system and purge any fluid before cutting into an existing line. Follow the pipe and fitting manufacturer fusion temperature and timing guidelines to ensure a complete, void-free joint. Work in compliance with applicable plumbing codes such as the IPC for material and pressure rating requirements.
