The NOMACO d1.2-2 is a Series D Cold Plasma Generator (CPG) designed for in-duct air purification in HVAC systems. It generates an electric field filled with highly charged ions that act as a natural scrubbing agent for airborne contaminants passing through the field. The unit targets dust, mold, pollen, bacteria, viruses, harmful pathogens, smoke, odor, and volatile organic compounds (VOCs). It operates without moving parts and produces no ozone or other harmful byproducts. Licensed HVAC technicians and mechanical contractors install this unit as part of an integrated indoor air quality (IAQ) strategy.
The d1.2-2 is suited for residential and light commercial HVAC applications handling up to 1,200 CFM. Compatible system types include fan coils, heat pumps, packaged terminal air conditioners (PTAC), ductless mini split units, and air handling units. Its compact, lightbulb-free design simplifies retrofits in existing equipment without major ductwork modification. Periodic cleaning of the plasma emitter is the primary maintenance requirement.
Designed for installation in fan coils, heat pumps, PTAC units, ductless mini split systems, and air handling units with airflow up to 1,200 CFM.
Installation is typically performed by a licensed HVAC technician. Disconnect power to the air handling unit or fan coil before mounting and wiring the CPG. Follow all applicable NEC requirements for low-voltage control wiring. Consult the manufacturer installation guide for emitter placement relative to the coil and airstream to ensure proper ion field exposure.
