The NIPPLES 330011206 is a domestic black steel pipe nipple sized at 3/8 inch diameter by 4-1/2 inches in length, manufactured to ASTM A53 welded steel pipe standards. It is threaded on both ends with NPT threads conforming to ASME B1.20.1, providing a secure, leak-resistant connection in pipe assemblies. This nipple is dimensioned to ASTM A733 specifications under Figure No. 339. It is a standard fitting used in gas, water, steam, and mechanical piping systems by licensed plumbers, pipefitters, and HVAC technicians working on both residential and light commercial installations.
This black steel nipple is suited for use in a wide range of piping applications including natural gas distribution lines, steam systems, and general fluid conveyance. The 3/8 inch diameter and 4-1/2 inch length make it appropriate for close-quarter connections and offset runs in tight mechanical spaces. The black finish is the standard choice for gas piping applications where galvanized coatings are not permitted by local code. Plumbers and pipefitters install this fitting as a standard threaded connector between valves, fittings, and equipment in commercial and residential systems.
Designed as a standard threaded pipe nipple for use with NPT-threaded fittings, valves, and couplings in residential and commercial piping systems. Available in standard and extra heavy schedules with right and left configurations in 1/8 inch through 4 inch diameters.
Installation should be performed by a licensed plumber or pipefitter in accordance with applicable local codes, the International Plumbing Code, and the International Fuel Gas Code where applicable. Shut off and depressurize the piping system completely before removing or installing any threaded fitting. Apply an appropriate thread sealant or PTFE tape rated for the service fluid before making up the connection. Do not overtighten threaded connections, as this can crack fittings or distort threads.
