The NIBCO X801740 is a Schedule 80 PVDF pipe nipple designed for use in industrial and commercial piping systems where chemical resistance and durability are required. Manufactured from polyvinylidene fluoride (PVDF), this nipple features an unthreaded, plain-end configuration and measures 2 inches in pipe size by 3 inches in length. It is color-coded red for easy system identification. Licensed plumbers and industrial pipefitters install this fitting in high-purity, chemical, and corrosive fluid handling systems where thermoplastic piping is specified.
This nipple is suited for chemical processing, water treatment, semiconductor fabrication, and other applications where metal pipe is incompatible with the process fluid. Its Schedule 80 wall thickness provides increased pressure ratings compared to Schedule 40, making it appropriate for moderate-pressure service lines. The unthreaded ends are compatible with solvent-welded or flanged PVDF piping assemblies.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement and standard fitting for Schedule 80 PVDF thermoplastic piping systems requiring a 2 inch plain-end pipe nipple.
Installation should be performed by a licensed plumber or qualified pipefitter familiar with thermoplastic piping systems. Shut off and depressurize the system completely before removing or installing any pipe fittings. When solvent-welding PVDF, use only cements and primers formulated specifically for PVDF material, as standard PVC or CPVC solvent cements are not compatible. Follow local plumbing codes and manufacturer joining instructions for pressure rating compliance.
