The NIBCO px81100a is a 1-inch lead-free sweat adapter fitting designed for use with F1807 PEX tubing systems. This fitting connects PEX tubing to copper or copper-compatible sweat connections, providing a reliable transition point in residential and light commercial plumbing systems. Constructed to ASTM F1807 standards, it is suitable for potable water applications where lead-free compliance is required. Licensed plumbers and pipefitters install this type of fitting during new construction and remodel work where PEX-to-sweat transitions are needed.
This adapter is used in residential and light commercial plumbing installations where PEX supply lines connect to existing copper distribution systems or sweat-end valves and fixtures. It is appropriate for both hot and cold potable water service. The F1807 crimp ring connection method is one of the most widely used PEX joining techniques, compatible with standard PEX crimp tools and copper crimp rings sized for 1-inch tubing.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement and standard-production fitting for 1-inch F1807 PEX crimp systems using copper crimp rings in potable water plumbing applications.
Installation should be performed by a licensed plumber in accordance with local plumbing codes and the IPC or applicable state code. Shut off the water supply and depressurize the line before beginning work. The sweat end requires proper flux application and soldering technique before the crimp connection is made to the PEX tubing. Allow soldered connections to cool completely before crimping the PEX side to avoid heat damage to the tubing.
