The NIBCO px81090a is a 3/4-inch lead-free sweat adapter fitting designed for use with F1807 PEX crimp systems. It provides a transition connection between copper sweat (soldered) pipe and PEX tubing, allowing installers to tie new PEX runs into existing copper distribution lines. The fitting meets lead-free requirements for potable water applications, making it suitable for use in residential and commercial plumbing systems where drinking water contact compliance is required. Licensed plumbers and pipefitters use this adapter when retrofitting or extending existing copper water supply lines with PEX.
This adapter is used in residential and light commercial water distribution systems where a copper-to-PEX transition is needed. Typical applications include retrofitting existing copper supply lines, connecting PEX branch lines to copper mains, and repair scenarios where a mixed-material connection is required. The F1807 crimp end accepts standard PEX crimp rings installed with an F1807-compatible crimp tool, while the sweat end is soldered onto standard copper pipe.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement and standard-use fitting compatible with F1807 PEX crimp systems at 3/4-inch pipe size, for use with standard copper sweat connections on potable water distribution systems.
Installation should be performed by a licensed plumber in accordance with local plumbing codes and ASTM F1807 standards. Shut off the water supply and depressurize the line before beginning any work. The sweat end requires standard soldering tools and flux; the PEX crimp end requires a calibrated F1807 crimp tool and compatible crimp rings. Do not over-crimp or apply heat near the PEX crimp end during soldering operations.
