The NIBCO px80730a is a cold-expansion PEX reducing tee fitting designed for potable water distribution and hydronic piping systems. Conforming to the ASTM F1807 standard, this fitting accepts PEX tubing connections at all three ports, with a 3/4-inch run on each end of the tee and a 1/2-inch branch outlet. Licensed plumbers and pipefitters install this type of fitting during new construction and remodel work where a main PEX run must be tapped to feed a branch line at a smaller diameter. The size reduction is built into the fitting, eliminating the need for a separate reducer at the branch.
This fitting is suited for residential and light commercial plumbing applications including domestic hot and cold water supply lines and radiant heating distribution manifolds. The F1807 designation indicates compatibility with the insert-style PEX expansion or crimp connection method standard, making it a common choice where code-compliant PEX systems are being assembled or extended. It is not intended for gas service.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement and standard-fit component for F1807-compliant PEX piping systems using 3/4-inch and 1/2-inch tubing.
Installation should be performed by a licensed plumber in accordance with local plumbing codes and the International Plumbing Code (IPC). Shut off and depressurize the water supply before cutting into any existing line. Use a calibrated PEX crimp or clamp tool rated for the connection size to ensure a leak-free joint. Inspect all rings and connections before restoring system pressure.
