The NIBCO px01526x is a lead-free ball valve designed for use in potable water and hydronic piping systems. Conforming to the ASTM F1807 standard, this valve features a sleeve-style crimp (SSC) connection on both ends, making it compatible with PEX tubing installations. At 1/2 inch in size, it is suited for residential and light commercial plumbing applications where a reliable shutoff is required. The lead-free construction meets federal and state requirements for fixtures and fittings used in drinking water systems. Licensed plumbers and pipefitters are the primary installers of this valve.
This ball valve is intended for 1/2 inch PEX piping systems using the F1807 insert-and-crimp connection method. It is commonly installed in branch lines, shutoff locations, and fixture supply runs in residential plumbing systems. The SSC x SSC end configuration means both inlet and outlet are sleeve crimp style, requiring a compatible crimp tool and copper crimp rings or stainless steel clamp rings sized for 1/2 inch PEX.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or new-installation fitting for 1/2 inch F1807 PEX crimp systems in residential and light commercial plumbing.
Installation should be performed by a licensed plumber in accordance with local plumbing codes and the IPC. Shut off the water supply and relieve system pressure before installing or replacing this valve. Use a calibrated F1807 crimp tool with appropriately sized copper or stainless steel rings to secure connections. Do not over-crimp or use rings sized for a different PEX connection standard.
